EDGAR is a men's lifestyle magazine and online platform that covers style, food, travel, culture, sport, tech and more. Available across the Middle East, EDGAR celebrates the life of the discerning modern man. It’s aimed at an individual that seeks substantial and unpretentious content that goes well beyond that of a typical men's magazine.
To coincide with the magazine’s relaunch, we were commissioned to create a distinctive aesthetic, reflecting a new content strategy and creative ambition. To ensure brand synergy, the magazine was designed in line with the website, retaining a systematic approach to typography, layout and design across both.
e-commerce is seamlessly integrated within the platform, enabling users to subscribe to the magazine, book events and enquire about content specific products.

FLEXIBILITY
Multiple editorial templates were developed, enabling the editorial team to fully reflect the printed magazine’s varied content. The templates utilise interchangeable headers, allowing each page to be carefully tailored to the content in a creative and engaging manner.
'Smart Titles' were developed to detect the character length and auto-adjust the layout, creating the right amount of space for the length of copy.
E-COMMERCE
Similar to the editorial templates, the events section caters for unpredictable content, both in terms of image quality and ratio.
We customised WooCommerce to create a bespoke solution that balances traditional e-commerce functionality and a fully fledged ticketing system. It allowed the client to act as a ticket distributor without inheriting the unnecessary features that come as standard off-the-shelf.
